The Midterm National Conference of Indian Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition (ISPGHAN) was organized by Dr. Neelam Mohan from Medanta The Medicity Hospital on 2nd Sept 2018; in association with Commonwealth Association of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition (CAPGAN) and Indian Academy of Pediatrics of Haryana (IAP – Haryana) at Radisson Blu – Delhi. The Theme of the CME was “LOGIC” (Learning of Gastrointestinal Issues in Children) . There was no registration fee charged.
Organizing Chairperson of the CME was Dr. Neelam Mohan - Director , Department of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatolology and Liver Transplantation , Medanta The Medicity Hospital, Gurgaon and Organizing Secretary was Dr. Deepak Goyal (Consultant – Pediatric Gastroenterology & Hepatology at Medanta The Medicity Hospital. The Members of Scientific committee were Dr. Neelam Mohan, Dr. Narendra Mittal (President of IAP Haryana), Dr. Shafiq Ahmad (Secretary of IAP Haryana) , Dr. Malathi Sathiyasekaran (President Of ISPGHAN), Anshu Srivastava (Secretary of ISPGHAN).
The scientific programme covered wide array of topics, concerning pediatricians and residents in their day to day practice in the field of Pediatric Gastroenterology & Hepatology. Important topics such as Celiac Disease, Diarrhea, Constipation, GERD, Milk Protein Allergy, Obesity, Gut Microbiome, Fatty Liver Disease/NASH, Viral Hepatitis, Acute liver failure and Liver Transplantation were covered. The conference science was delivered by popular speakers of national repute.
The faculty in this CME included Dr. S.K. Yachha (SGPGI-Lucknow), Dr. Anshu Srivastava (SGPGI- Lucknow), Dr. B.R. Thapa (Chandigarh) , Dr. Malathi Sathiyasekaran (Chennai), Sadhna Lal (PGI -Chandigarh), Bhaswati C Acharyya (Kolkata), Dr. Pankaj Garg (SGRH -Delhi), Dr. Deepak Goyal (Medanta The Medicity- Gurgaon), Dr. Rohan Malik (AIIMS - Delhi), Vikrant Sud (ILBS -Delhi), Dr. Sangeeta Sharma (National TB Institute) & Dr. Shivani Deswal (RML – Delhi). The transport and accommodation of faculty was looked after by the organizing team.
Program was started with the Welcome note of Dr. Neelam Mohan at 9:30am. Inauguration ceremony was at 11:30am with lamp lighting followed by “Saraswati Vandana” and “Rashtraya Gan” . The CME was attended by >240 doctors of Delhi, Haryanaand few (10) from UP, Punjab, Patna & Hyderabad. The topics were well appreciated by them.
A special memento was given to faculty to honor them. A special group photo session at pool side was organized by the organizing committee at lunch time which was made this CME very special to everyone (faculty/delegates). A special Mug with self photo printed was given to everyone. At the end of CME there was lucky draw game was held and 20 gifts were distributed. The key-messages of the topics written by the speakers were provided to the delegates.
